Thiru N. Muruganandam, IAS

Thiru N. Muruganandam, IAS, is the current Chief Secretary of Tamil Nadu. He assumed office on August 19, 2024, succeeding Shiv Das Meena to become the 50th Chief Secretary of the state. He is a 1991-batch IAS officer. Previous Roles: Before this appointment, he served as the Finance Secretary and Industries Secretary in Tamil Nadu. He has also held roles as Collector of Chennai, Coimbatore, and Karur. Education: He is an engineer by training with a degree in Computer Science from Anna University and an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad. Tenure: He is expected to hold the position until his retirement in December 2027
